Society for Teaching Development of School, Bongaigaon is a non profitablesocial organization established on 10th August,2003 under the leadership of some socially aware and benevolent citizen of Bongaigaon on the basis of public demand for a quality teacher training institute in Bongaigaon area. That very day under the chairmanship of the then M.L.A. Sri Phani Bhushan Choudhury an elevenmembers committee was formed to fulfill the dream project with the following objectives in view. The Society is registered under the ‘Society Registration Act. XXX of1860.

i) To provide academic excellence to the pre service training to the aspirants of teaching profession to make them competent knowledge workers.
ii) To conduct field studies and diagnostic survey of problems related with education in general as well as those in SC, ST,OBC & Tea Garden workers dominant areas.
iii) To organize academic programmes like seminars and workshops regularly.
iv) To organize regular literary and cultural progrmmes on contemporary issues.
v) To prepare and update the trainees so that they can easily face the challenges of the present global scenario specially in the field of teaching learning.
